I hope to understand the effect that our genes have on us as people. I’m particularly interested in how we use genetic information in medicine. What tests should we use and why? Can we predict our health from our genes? Who should have access to this information?
My PhD work looks at how genes affect fertility, and how genetic information moves between parents and their children. I let other people do the lab work, and I focus on analysing the results using computer programs.

A mix of meetings, reading, computer work and thinking.

I’d donate it to a friend of mine who runs science experiments for children and the general public
