I don’t have a timetable either, but often write myself To Do notes at the start of the day to make sure I get through everything I need to do that day.
I have some things like meetings that are timetabled, but for most of my time I’m free to do what I want. Like Marlene I try to write lists and plan out my day to make sure I don’t waste it.
I do have a time table, I plan a week ahead (and sometimes half a year ahead). In the time table I have to set priorities when I have two or more events at the same time. Following the flow may be nice for some time, but I think it is more productive to set milestones and following objectives.
This is a good question. Sometimes, when things get really busy, or I have deadlines to meet, i have to to make a timetable of sorts. Also, some of the machines i have to use are very busy and often used by others, so I often have to book time for my experiments to make sure that the machines are available when I need to use them. I have a lot of scattered post it notes everywhere too…
