      Hello! I would design booklets describing experiments that students and teachers can do at school, which are similar to things we do in the actual research labs, using only things found in the supermarket or school science labs. In my research, I spend a lot of time getting DNA out of human cells, but oneof my favourite experiments to do with students is getting DNA out of food! What has more DNA in it? A banana, strawberries or a chicken sandwich?! I would write a booklet with these types of experiment, and describe how we do almost exactly the same things in the lab to research cancer and other diseases!

      I would use it for equipment for my science radio show. We want to take the show on tour – to science festivals/ museums etc, but we don’t have any portable equipment yet!

      I would hopefully use the money to fund an event at the Edinburgh festival next year to showcase the reasearch of myself and others in the graduate school funded by the same people as me, possibly via the medium of comedy! All of our research is marine related 🙂
