Hi Boblong,

I hope so – the problems we have in cancer treatment at the moment is that the drugs we are using are quite old, and although they work for some people with cancer, they don’t work for everybody sadly. We therefore need to come up with new, better drugs to help people who don’t get cured from current treatments. It’s also very important we look at the problems with the DNA (DNA mutations) that cause the cancer, and try to design treatments that target these faulty cells. This way, we can avoid harming the person’s healthy cells – this currently happens with almost all cancer treatments, which is why cancer patients often feel tired and sick whilst on treatment.
