      I guess you mean inflammation. Inflammation is a process that can occur in many variants. There is inflammation linked to bacterial or strong viral infections, linked to wound healing processes. There is also so call sterile inflammation occurring for example after a stroke in the brain. The mechanisms of inflammation are manyfold and some inflammation processes of a certain kind may even lead to a shut down of an effective immune response.

      Can it be used for future machines or objects? This is difficult to say from the biological process. Some people refer to individuals or groups that steer up other individuals or groups as being inflammatory. In a sense one could create objects (art) for example that steer up observers of art objects for example.
