• Question: What made you choose a career in science and how did that lead to studying Arctic Salmon?

      Well I always enjoyed science at school and studied physics, chemistry and biology. I guess I have always been interested in how stuff works, and science is key to understanding how the world (and all of us) work!

      I have also always loved the sea (and any other water feature on the planet!) so marine biology was my perfect subject. Atlantic salmon as really cool as they travel thousanda of miles out to sea during their life, but somehow manage to return to the exact stream they were born in! I wanted to know how their DNA makes this possible,
