When I was little the first 2 jobs I wanted to have were a hairdresser (because my mum is one) and then a vet (because I like animals). Since then I have also wanted to be an architect, a graphic designer, a singer and a lawyer, and finally a marine biologist!

I’ve got less sure what I want to be as I’ve got older!

When I was little, I wanted to be a train driver. Then I spent a long time wanting to be a journalist. Now I’m working as a scientist, but I’m really not sure what I want to do next. Any suggestions are welcome!

I was curious as a child. I was more interested in understanding radios or TVs. This curiosity later translated to the area of genetics when I started to study Biology. I initially wanted to do biophysics but then switched to genetics. Within genetic, using genetics, I am now working on the Immune System.

Yes, I have to say I’ve always liked science. However when I was younger I thought I would probably be a physicist or engineer like my dad. We did lots of fun sciency experiments when i was younger. However when i grew up a bit, I got ill with leukaemia – and this made me more interested about genetics and medicine, so i switched and decided I would like to do some research into cancer. I always knew I wanted to work in science though, I just didn’t know which part of science.
