I think it depends how much time they spend together, what is the age difference and how much they are able to pick up what the brother things. There are cases where brothers can be very similar, but also cases where they are very different.

Interesting question! Your thoughts will be shaped by exposure to different situations, different people, films, tv, reading, documentaries, etc. Although brothers may be close, it is unlikely that they will have exactly the same experiences in life, and therefore, even though they are brought up in the same place, they may think in very different ways.

      This is a great question.

I think a lot of people’s personality and how they think is caused by how they are brought up, and as you point out there are many brothers and sisters who can end up seeming very different.

One possible answer is that actually someone’s friends might be more influential on their personality than their family. As an example, research shows that people tend to speak (in accent and style) like their friends not like their parents. Maybe the same kind of thing happens for different parts of their personality?
